Portable Bodywork Mats for Shiatsu, Massage, Exercise and Yoga
Why choose a Dreamcraft Thai Massage and Shiatsu Bodywork Mat?
At Dreamcraft we have created massage mats and pillows specifically designed to suit the needs of the Shiatsu or Thai Yoga massage practitioner.
Marilyn Moser-Waxman, the owner of the business, is a shiatsu practitioner. From her own experience and practice, and from consulting with other bodywork professionals and teachers, she has created the best mats on the market for Shiatsu and Thai Bodywork.
Most mats on the market are simply thin bed size futons. Those mats do not have the width or the length needed by the Shiatsu and Thai practitioner to be able to move about on the mat.
Dreamcraft Shiatsu and Thai mats have the added length and width that allows both the practitioner and the client to be on the mat during the session and these mats provide ample padded space for the stretching and movement used with Thai and Shiatsu Bodywork.
For a permanent office space checkout the larger and thicker treatment room mat. Most practitioners also like to have support pillows for under the neck, ankles or knees. Don’t forget custom work is our specialty so, if you need a mat in a special size we will do our best to accommodate you.

Things to Consider When You Purchase a Mat
Does the mat need to be portable?
If the mat is to be portable, what kind of transportation do you usually take? For example, the 54” x 87” is great if you have a car, but too bulky for public transport.
Mats will pack down to about 1/2 their original thickness in about a year of normal use, however, its weight will not change.
For Thai and Shiatsu massage, we recommend a mat wider than 30”.
If you want your pillows to coordinate with the fabrics used on your mats, order them at the same time so you can be assured of a color match.

Caring for Your Bodywork Mats
Caring for Your Bodywork Mats
Do not get the mat wet.
The mat can be spot cleaned only. Do not attempt to wash the mat or dry clean – not good for the mat, not good for the washer!
It is strongly suggested to purchase a removable washable cover with your mat to keep the mat from becoming soiled and protecting your investment.
Wash the cover with mild laundry soap with cool water and either hang to dry or dry on low to prevent shrinkage. Drying the cover on a high heat is not recommended.
Your cover is made slightly larger than the mat to accommodate some shrinkage.
With proper care your mat will last for many, many years. |
